Meditation is one of the methods of mastering the mind in emerging spirituality, which is used to obtain peace and happiness, and is one of the accessories of yoga. The purpose of meditation is introspection, education and control of the mind with introspective techniques to achieve deep and long happiness, awareness and peace independent of others. These techniques are introduced in the form of emerging spirituality, meditation and introspection, which are among the challenges of contemporary society. These techniques, which are devoid of spirituality, claim that their application is the only way to achieve peace. The main question of this article is what is the ruling of meditation from the perspective of Islamic teachings and what are its theological foundations? This research tries to explain meditation and its types and compare it with Islamic meditation by using the descriptive-analytical method and using library sources, and during this research, to criticize the theological foundations of meditation. The finding of the article is that meditation is a quasi-meditation based on the foundations of emerging mysticism, such as humanism, secularism, postmodernism, pluralism and nihilism, and has nothing to do with Islamic teachings; Also, from the point of view of jurisprudence, due to the inclusion of dance, music and meaningless words, it is considered a kind of abrogation and is subject to the obligation of sanctity.
